It’s official.

Unless you are related to me (Hi family!), you probably have no idea how long I have been working on making The Suburban Survival a reality, but let’s just say it has been a LONG time!  So first, let me say, thank you family for putting up with my indecisive plans for the future and giving me the constant encouragement I needed to make this dream a reality, you guys rock!

And now, without further ado, here it is, the first official post of The Suburban Survival!

The Suburban Survival is all about surviving modern life.  In the era of Pinterest/DIY Mavens we can all feel like we are sinking in quick sand!  I mean, how do those people find the time/energy to do all these amazingly creative things and still get the laundry done (without turning the whites pink).  It can be super intimidating, I know, I get it!

When I see something I want at Target or Hobby Lobby I often beeline for it, look at the price tag, and put it right back.  I think to myself (sometimes out-loud) “WHAT?  This costs, that much!!!”  I could make that.  So I do, I figure out how to make it (for less) and usually like it so much more than the original, plus then you have something that is one-of-a-kind, made by you and that is truly something special.

Now, I know what you are thinking, “Hey lady, you sound like one of the Pinterest/DIY Mavens!  What gives?”  Well my friends, I am here to tell you that you can do it too!  Think about it, at one point we were all little, dreaming creating and enjoying life without a care in the world.  I am of the philosophy that we all still harbor the ability to be creative and I want to motivate and inspire you to let it shine!

From home improvement projects to DIY birthday cakes, I will arm you with the tools, tips and tricks to be your very own, modern-day, suburban survivalist.  I am a girl on a mission to help dreams become reality, create as much as possible and enjoy every inch of modern-day life.

Won’t you join me?
